My Love/Hate Relationship With Amazon
I feel like I should be more upset at the sheer corporate greed going on in the upper echelons of this mammoth company, but I just can't seem to get that worked up about it.
All corporations have the right to make money - that's why they went into business, right? And all corporations are greedy - that's why they continue to make money, right? And all corporate big wigs have affairs and send dick pics to...wait, that's not right.
Bezos, et. al. need to A) keep it in their pants, and B) keep in mind that the rest of us are the reason they're making so much money. Amazon should have splashed down their headquarters in New York with the fanfare, "Hey we have a job for anyone who wants one. We're going to invest in the local infrastructure and local businesses. We're going to help build affordable housing for our employees and bring goods and services to grocery deserts and inner city hubs that need help. AND we're going to give money to local schools for construction projects, expansion, and salaries." But they didn't. Idiots.
So now, they're looking for a new location. And I hope that whoever is in charge of the company relocation and whoever is in charge of landing them in their city have a bit of a sitdown to discuss full-on terms of their moving in.
